Arsenal is an English professional football club based in London. The club was founded in 1886 as Dial Square by workers from the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory. They later changed their name to Royal Arsenal, then Woolwich Arsenal, and finally Arsenal in 1914.
Arsenal is one of the most successful clubs in English football, having won 13 league titles, a record 14 FA Cups, two League Cups, 16 FA Community Shields, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
